Congratulations on your SketchUp Pro Subscription purchase, the world of 3D lies before you.

This guide will teach you how to get access to the applications included in your SketchUp Pro Subscription depending on the role within your company.

Account owner and Administrator Instructions

Access to the Account Management Portal (AMP)

As an administrator for your company you will be able to assign and revoke SketchUp Pro Subscription access for your company’s users. This can be done in the Account Management Portal (AMP).

Once your SketchUp Pro Subscription order has been processed by your reseller, you will receive an automated email from Trimble that will look something like this:

“Manage Your Account” will also take you to the AMP.

If your email is not already associated with a Trimble ID you will also receive an email asking you to create one. Down below is an example of how it may look like.

When you click the activate account please enter the same email address and create your password.

Always make sure you are using the same email address that you gave to the reseller you purchased your SketchUp Pro Subscription from. If you login/create an account for any other email you will not be able to access your licenses.

Assigning and revoking licenses

Once you have signed in, you will see a list of all the accounts your email address has been assigned to. The account with the licences purchased via reseller will be displayed as:

Your company name
Purchased via ResellerA

When you click on one of the Accounts a new page will be loaded. To assign licenses to your users click on “Members”.

Once the page has loaded you will find an “Add New User” button in the upper right-hand corner.

A new window will open asking you to type in an email address followed by another window that asks you to define the user’s first and last name, role, and what product access you want to give them.

Here is a list of all the roles available:

Note that “Billing” will not be available for customers who purchased licenses through a reseller. To get access to that information please contact your reseller directly.

In “Product Access”, you will see the software license available for you to assign to your users.

Once a license has been assigned the user will be displayed in a list in the Members section. Like in the image below.

To revoke a license click on the three (3) dots that appear to the right and select “Remove User”.

The user who got their license revoked will receive the following email notification:

If you ever want to view some other account, you can choose which one by pressing the dropdown in the left section.

It’s worth noting that a user will have access to a “Personal Account” which gives access to SketchUp Free and also displays the current status of any SketchUp Pro Trial that the user has started.

In rare cases, there might be an Account showing up with your company name but without the note that the license is purchased via a reseller. This is a “Personal Account”. It shows up this way because the user has not used SketchUp Free, or a trial, before getting assigned to a license.

The “My Products” section

The “My Products” section can also be found in the left menu. This is where your users will find a list of all the software and tools included in the SketchUp Pro Subscription once they have been assigned a license.

This page will be blank unless the user has been assigned a license. If one of your users ever reports this ask them to make sure that they are signed in with the correct email address and/or make sure that their email was not misspelled when the assignment was made.

Note that If you as an administrator also want access to the SketchUp Pro Subscription you will have to assign one of the licenses to yourself.

The “Plans Settings” section

Here you will find all the information about your SketchUp Pro Subscription contract such as the:

  • Name of the plan
  • Status
  • Expiration date
  • Number of total seats
  • List of all included applications

By clicking the “Edit Plan Settings” in the top left you will get a popup that displays the contact information to your reseller.

This email will guide you to the Account Management Portal (AMP). Please make sure to sign in with the same email address that you gave to your administrator or the reseller you purchased your SketchUp Pro Subscription from. If you login with any other email you will not be able to see your license.

If your administrator ever revokes your license you will receive an email that looks something like this:

“My Products” and downloading the software

Common Issues

The Trimble activation link has expired

You can resend the activation link to yourself by going to the Account Management Portal (AMP) and typing in the email address on the page that opens when you click next a new page will load telling you that “your account is almost ready” with a box below it with the option to resend the activation email.

My Product page is blank

There are three (3) common reasons for this.

The first is that you might be logged in with the wrong email address. It must be the same as the one you used when you placed an order.

The second reason might be because you are viewing the wrong account. In most cases, people are looking under their Personal Account.

The third reason could be that your company’s administrator might not have given you access to a SketchUp Pro Subscription license, and therefore there are no products available to you. So check in with the admin just in case.

I have not received any of the automated emails

Most email failures happen with Microsoft accounts (including msn.com, outlook.com, hotmail.com). The message usually has arrived, but it’s stored in the Junk mailbox in a way that a search will not show it. Manually scrolling through the Junk mailbox, looking for messages that arrived soon after an account setup or password reset, will show those messages.

If you are still not finding/receiving the emails please clear your web browser’s cache and safelist Trimbles sending emails – noreply_identity@trimblepaas.com, noreply@trimblepaas.com, and the IP “104.130.122.50” in your server.

If none of the above solutions help you, please reach out to your reseller for further assistance.
